Walk-In Freezer Repair
4 Signs You Need Walk-In Cooler or Walk-In Freezer Repair
If you open your walk-in freezer and hot air and nasty smells, it’s a pretty sure thing that you need some help. It’s better if you can catch smaller problems before they become big ones. The following are four signs to help you do just that.
1. You See Frost
If you notice frost building up on your walls or the door, you likely need walk-in freezer repair. Frost comes from cold and warm air meeting - not something that should be going on in your freezer. Any frost could be a sign that seals aren’t working properly or something is malfunctioning.
2. You Hear Strange Noises
Freezers and coolers require motors to keep things at the right temperature. Typically, those motors hum, not making much noticeable noise.
If you begin to hear loud noises or squealing, or it sounds as though someone is knocking on the walls, the motor isn’t working properly. It’s important that you get walk-in cooler repair or walk-in freezer repair services as soon as possible.
3. You Smell Strange Odors
Coolers and freezers that aren’t working as they should cause a couple of different strange smells. The first is spoiled food, meaning that your food is not being kept at the proper temperature.
The second odor is more like cleaning spray or gas. This typically means that the coolant is leaking. In either case, it’s imperative to call a walk-in cooler or walk-in freezer repair service immediately.
4. You See Water
There should be no water in your walk-in, so if you see any puddles on the floor, notice any leaks from the ceiling, or see water on the walls, you likely have a problem.
Ignoring such a problem can lead to even worse problems. For instance, you might face mold and health department issues, have employees injure themselves, and more. If you notice any misplaced water, call for a walk-in freezer or walk-in cooler repair immediately.
If you notice any of the signs above or anything else that’s out of the ordinary, give us a call. At Antarctic Refrigeration, we are dedicated to keeping your walk-ins working at their best
